Just before 10 p.m. last Thursday (May 31), a wom- an was approached by a man at the Oakville Transit bus terminal at Dundas Street and Trafalgar Road. The man allegedly pressed an imitation firearm against the woman and de- manded money. She said did not have any money on her, and the man then left in the direc- tion of Trafalgar Road. On Saturday (June 2) at 2:30 p.m., the same man en- tered the TD Canada Trust at 2325 Trafalgar Rd. Allegedly armed with an imitation firearm, the man approached one of the tellers and demanded mon- ey. The teller gave the sus- pect an undisclosed amount of money and the man subsequently fled the bank. Officers immediately re- sponded to the area and lo- cated the man in a nearby residential area. During the arrest, the suspect assaulted one of the officers. A foot pursuit en- sued and the male was ap- prehended a short distance away. The officer was notaway. The officer was nota injured during the inci- dent. Charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and assault of afirearm and assault of af peace officer is 51-year-old Vincenzo Rasile.
