Getting nominated for awards is an added bonus. Comprised of female roots-country duo Oak- ville's Zoe Neuman and Toronto's Ali Raney, the Lovelocks have been nom- inated for a few awards at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) Sept. 9, at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton. "CCMAs are a wonder- ful time to spend togeth-ful time to spend togeth-f er," said Raney. "It's great to see musicians, artists, friends and other industryfriends and other industryf people from across Cana- da - an end-of the year cel- ebration, if you will." This is the sixth year they've been up for Roots Artist of the Year, and the sixth time for Raney in the Fiddler of the Year catego- ry. "It's an honour to be nominated and I'm really looking forward to cele- brating that," she added. This summer has been a busy time for the pair, as they released their third album, $20 In My Pocket. They've been on a radio and promotions tour throughout July and Au- gust. "It's so fun to get it on the road, and we've been doing a social media cam- paign."
