This is our seventh annual coat drive - everything we use is donated - premis- es, materials, trucking and volunteer time. In 2017, we collected approximate- ly 1,000 coats and 700 left on the day of our event - one winter coat per person in attendance - although we do have scarves and fall jackets, etc. We have two collection days in theWe have two collection days in theW parking lot of St. Dominic School - this year it's Sept. 8 and 15 - but our main collection point is the Fire Station at Bronte Road and Rebecca Street, where the firefighters take the coats in and hold for our pickup. We were previously hosted by a localWe were previously hosted by a localW company, Creative Visual Solutions, for five years. This year and going forwardfive years. This year and going forwardf we are being hosted by Oakville Hydro. The coats are sorted and hung, and on Saturday, Oct. 13, we will have them at the St. Dominic School Gym. Invita- tions are issued through many local ser- vice agencies to their clients. Families come early in the day to make their choice.
