Remembering Canadian service and sacrifice On November 11, Halton will join Canadians from coast to coast in recognizing those who fought for our country in wars and conflicts around the world. This Remembrance Day marks the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War I. Just as those who served 100 years ago ensured that we could build a strong, diverse and inclusive nation, current members of the Canadian armed forces fight to preserve it. Through their actions, our veterans have supported global security, brought much-needed aid to other countries and protected our nation, our values and our way of life. These brave individuals secured the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. From now until November 11, please wear your poppy in remembrance of those who served--and sacrificed--for us all. Keeping you informed by highlighting what makes Halton a great place to live. Gary Carr, Regional Chair
