She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends and the staff of Powell Insurance. She IS the glue that binds our family. Charlotte was raised on the family farm in Ancaster, Ontario. Shortly after her marriage to Eddy, they co-founded M. Edward Powell Insurance Brokers and built it into a business that she continued to work at throughout the rest of her life. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, in Oakville, where her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 14th at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W. (one block East of Kerr St.), from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte's memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters Halton and Hamilton, The Canadian Cancer Society, or Community Living North Halton- Saturday Centre. We will never be the same as we were before this loss, but are ever so much better for having someone so great to lose. BEAUMONT, Richard Blackwell July 8, 1930 - November 9, 2018 Beloved father, grandfather, brother- in-law, father-in-law and friend, Dick Beaumont died peacefully of natural causes on Friday, November 9. Born a n d r a i s e d i n M o n t r é a l , D i c k graduated from Sir George Williams University and began a long and successful career with DuPont. He met Jean McNeill in 1955 and they married in 1956, his career taking them to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia for several years before they eventually s e t t l e d t h e i r y o u n g f a m i l y i n Beaconsf ie ld , Québec . Over the following decades, Dick held many positions of increasing responsibility at DuPont, eventually retiring as Compensation Manager. Dick and Jean moved to Oakville in 1979 and in retirement Dick remained active in the community. He was a longstanding and dedicated member of St. Cuthbert's Church, serving in several volunteer roles and receiving the recognition of the Order of Niagara in 2007. He also volunteered with the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts and he and Jean were active members of the Oakville Club for decades, playing tennis and badminton and enjoying many social events with friends. Dick loved music, painting, baseball, long dinners with friends and family, and a good 'shaggy dog' story. He was predeceased by Jean, and is remembered with love by his children Cathy, Rick and Stephen, and their spouses Shawn, Angela and Maggie. JACOBS, Roy Alexander (Scoop) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Roy, 89 of Bobcaygeon, Ontario on October 30, 2018. Roy was born on June 30, 1929 in Oakville, Ontario. He was the loving father to Janet (Paul) Christensen and Keith (Nancy) Jacobs , grandfather to Samuel (Jacqui) Christensen, Jessica (Tom) Baginski, Robert (Samantha) Hipson and Christopher (Courtney) Hipson, and great-grandfather to Maya, Christian, and Alexa Baginski. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene (Watson) and son, Carl Jacobs as well as his second wife, Yvonne (Lawrence). Roy loved to drive and worked as a cement truck driver for King Paving and Dufferin Concrete for 42 years in Oakville before retiring. He was a long-t ime res ident in Oakvi l le . Twenty-five years ago he relocated to Bobcaygeon. He loved to fish, hunt and visit with all of his friends in town. He commenced his second and favourite career as the "only" crossing guard in Bobcaygeon. He had been working as the crossing guard for 12 years and worked the very day he passed away. Roy took great p r ide in a l l he d id and especially enjoyed being with the children on a daily basis. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Sunday, November 18th at the Bobcaygeon Legion, Branch 239, 96 King Street East from 1 until 4 p.m. All are welcome to come and remember this special man. KOVACHEVICH, Rade We are saddened to announce the passing of Rade Kovachevich on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Rade was a proud Ford employee retired from the Ontario truck plant in Oakville. His biggest loves in life were his family and horse racing. He was a proud Canadian citizen and loved by many. He is survived by his long time partner Anne Kearsey and his children Maria Manojlovic, Rade (Rebecca) and stepdaughter Jane Tollefson (Randy). Loving grandfather to Gordana, Mirjana, Sara, Amy, Logan, Jesse, Tony, and Robyn as well as five great-grandchildren. A family service has already been held. LAM-O'NEILL, Rufina Chi Huen When Rufina Chi Huen Lam-O'Neill exhaled her last breath on October 28, her husband, Eugene O'Neill, held her hand in a moment of shared companionship that had stretched over 30 years, filled with creativity, cultural explorations and doing everyday life to the highest qualities as an expression of love and family life. Rufina was born in Hong Kong and moved to England as a young teenager. She went on to become an accomplished professional architect in London, where she and Eugene met working on the same project. Ruf ina and Eugene se t t led in Canada, and following their marriage (1993) they moved to Oakville. Rufina is predeceased by their dearly missed daughter Catherine (2000) and her beloved father Andrew Shun Put Lam (2016). She is survived by her daughter Aine, and son Owen, her mother Annie Yuen Mei To (Lam), her brother Eric Lam, and sister Daria Lam-Wolke, brother-in- law Dan Wolke and their sons, Christian and Julian. A special thank you must be given to the care team, family doctor, and all the staff at Ian Anderson House, for their care throughout her cancer journey. While a Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, November 4, at The Studio, Gairloch Gardens, Oakville, her interment will occur in early Summer 2019.
