If approved, the proposed pipeline would replace existing transportation capabilities of refined oil products (gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel) between Imperial Oil Limited's Waterdown Pump Station in the City of Hamilton to its Finch Terminal in North York in the City of Toronto. The pipeline and associated infrastructure are located in the City of Hamilton, the City of Burlington, the Town of Milton, the Town of Oakville, the City of Mississauga, and the City of Toronto, as shown in the map below. Imperial Oil Limited is also asking the Ontario Energy Board to approve the form of agreement it offers to landowners to use their land for location and construction of the proposed pipeline. THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) will hold a public hearing to consider the application filed by Imperial Oil Limited. During the hearing, we will question Imperial Oil Limited Ontario Energy Board Commission de l'énergie de l'Ontario on the case. We will also hear questions and arguments from individual consumers, municipalities and others whose interests would be affected. At the end of this hearing, the OEB will decide whether to approve the application. As part of its review of this application, the OEB will assess Imperial Oil Limited's compliance with the OEB's Environmental Guidelines for the Location, Construction and Operation of Hydrocarbon Pipelines and Facilities in Ontario. The OEB advises Indigenous communities that the OEB's process for this application may serve as a component of the Crown's duty to consult for this project.
