DEALER ORDER/TRADE MAY BE NECESSARY. On April 11, the provin- cial government tabled its 2019 budget. This is the inaugural budget of our government, and I am proud of what it is offering to the people of Oakville and Ontario. We all know that manyWe all know that manyW people in our community, and indeed across the prov- ince, are finding it harder and harder to get by as life becomes more expensive. Low income seniors who are on a fixed budget every month, are hit hardest. That is why have chosen to invest $90 million in order to pro- vide low income seniors with the free dental care they need. This program is de- signed to help those most in need in our province and will also reduce the number of emergency dental visits in hospitals, helping reduce hallway healthcare. The program will provide free dental care to a single senior with income under $19,300 and a couple with income under $32,000. Oakville families will ap- preciate our new Childcare Access and Relief from Ex- penses (CARE) program de- signed to provide relief to low, and middle-income families. The CARE taxfamilies. The CARE taxf credit will provide up to 75 per cent of eligible child care expenses to some 300,000 families. Families will re-families. Families will re-f ceive up to $6,000 per child under seven, $3,750 per child between 7-16, and up to $8,250 for children with a disability. This program could help some 9,000-19,000 people enter the provincial workforce, a majority of whom will be young moms. Commuters will also ap- preciate this government's historic investment in GTA transit infrastructure, a $28.5 billion plan for ex- panding subways in Toron- to and the GTA. With the construction of a new Onta- rio line, and the expansion of the Lakeshore West GO line, and an additional ex- tension to Pearson, this plan will get people moving again and help reduce con- gestion on our roads. In Oakville, this budget delivers on our commit- ment to enhancing the in- frastructure that residentsfrastructure that residentsf rely on. These include crit- ical investments in a local water treatment and pro- cessing plant, the construc- tion of St. Nicholas School, École secondaire catholique Sainte-Trinité, and the new Halton courthouse. The Ontario Budget 2019 outlines our plan to restore fiscal balance, reduce thefiscal balance, reduce thef debt burden and strengthen trust, transparency and ac- countability in Ontario's fi- nances. Of the current net debt, $183 billion has been accu- mulated since the begin- ning of 2008, affecting the province's ability to balance the books. Every dollar spent servicing the debt is a dollar that could go to hiring another nurse, fixing anoth- er school or providing addi- tional relief to lower- and middle-income families. The provincial govern- ment is committed to bal- ancing the budget in a re- sponsible manner to protect what matters most - health- care, education, and other critical public services - with no new tax increases.
