On Saturday, June 22, from noon to 5 p.m., the Oakville and Milton Hu- mane Society will lock up 20 adorable - not adoptable - humans in dog kennels at Oakville Place's Centre Court, and they will be "put up for adoption." Why are these humans spending their Saturday in a kennel? Each of them un- derstands the importance of the work being done by the Oakville and Milton Humane Society. Each one knows that, whether an an- imal has been abandoned, surrendered, neglected or abused, every animal that comes to the shelter de- serves top-notch care and a family that will love them. All of the humans in the kennels will be working to raise their adoption fee in support of Mission Pawsi- ble presented by PetSmart. Community representa- tives won't be letting them- selves out of the kennels until their pledges are met, at which point they are "adopted." Until that time, they will use their phones and social media to contact their friends to sponsor them. Swingin' - Standards, Love Songs and Hidden Gems will be presented on Saturday, June 22, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. The Ross Wooldridge Quartet fea- tures Brenda Brown and Carolyn Credico on vocals. Wooldridge will be play- ing clarinet, sax and piano, joined by Brigham Phillips on piano and trumpet, Lew Mele on bass and Glenn Anderson on drums.
