Her biggest heartbreak was losing Howie. She grew up in Milton along with her brother Charles. As our cherished mother, she spent a large portion of time at home where she raised her family while taking care of two businesses; Roy's Heating Service and Roy's Small Engines, both in Bronte. Later in life she worked at Telpage Communications as a telephone operator. She eventually went back to school and graduated with a high honours in mental health, where she then began working at Oaklands looking after residents for several years. After a thoroughly fulfilling career, she spent her remaining time enjoying her retirement where she travelled with her friends from Alaska to the deep south. She was a lifetime member of T.O.P.S. and also belonged to the Christian Women's Aux. She helped establish The Lois Club of Milton and surrounding area, and looked forward to their many gatherings. She enjoyed many summers at her trailer in Lawson Park and Flamboro, and each year, all she could think of were the family reunions which she loved so much to host.
