This fall, Oakville Pub- lic Library welcomes a tru- ly spectacular lineup of nine world-renowned au- thors for intimate conver- sations and discussions on their work and lives, as part of the annual "In Con- versation With ..." series, in partnership with the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts and Bur- lington-based bookstore A Different Drummer Books. The series starts in Sep- tember, with women's health advocate and New York Times columnist Dr. Jen Gunter, presenting her myth-debunking and em- powering guide to women's sexual health, titled The Vagina Bible. The series continues in- to October with Booker Prize-winning author Sal- man Rushdie (presenting Quichotte), and Charlotte Gray and Emma Donoghue (presenting Murdered Mi- das and Akin, respective- ly). Also in October, best- selling author and wildly popular Ann Patchett vis- its Oakville to present her latest novel, The Dutch House, along with Ted Bar- ris (Rush to Danger) and Bob McDonald (An Earth- ing's Guide to Outer Space) coming later in the month. The In Conversation With fall series wraps up in November with Dr. Lee Smolin coming to town, de- tailing his latest work, Ein- stein's Unfinished Revolu- tion, for science fanatics and enthusiasts of quan- tum physics alike. "This series is the result of a truly collaborative ef- fort to bring such talented authors to Oakville and provide the community with unforgettable literary events," says Ian Elliot, owner of A Different Drummer Books. Tickets for each In Con- versation With event are $30 and can be purchased online through opl.ca or oakvillecentre.ca, or at the Oakville Centre box office.
