"There was a period in my life where I had binders of medical information that I took to every ap- pointment," said Dickin- son, who has Ehlers-Dan- los syndrome. "I knew there had to be a better way, so I set out to create an app to help me manage my health care so that I could be there for my family." Chronically Simple is a health-care app that al- lows patients to keep their medical information "at their fingertips" and share it with medical team mem- bers. The app streamlines the organization of medi- cal records, diagnostic im- ages and test results, as well as offering appoint- ment reminders and calen- dars, and linking health- care provider details with associated checkups or prescriptions. Chronically Simple also includes medi- cation- and health-related expense trackers for tax purposes. The app was acquired by Oakville-based Inno- mar Strategies, and Dick- inson is pleased that her app will now "be able to evolve and scale to support more patients as they man- age their individual jour- neys." Chronically Simple puts the power in the hands of the patient, said Innomar president Guy Payette. "We are committed to investing in innovative dig- ital tools that help opti- mize outcomes, and Chronically Simple does just that, through an easy- to-use mobile interface," said Payette. Patients can subscribe to Chronically Simple on- line, chronicallysimple- .com, or by downloading the application through the App Store or Google Play.
