Halton police are looking for one man fol- lowing the theft of more than $160 worth of booze from an Oakville LCBO. On Aug. 9 at 3:50 p.m., a man and woman entered the LCBO at 321 Cornwall Rd. Police said staff at the LCBO had prior is- sues with the man and approached him, at which point her turned around and left. The woman, however, attended the spirits section where she selected two bottles of Johnnie Walker Green Label. Police allege she concealed these bottles in the shoulder bag she was carrying and then left the store without paying. Store employees saw her get into a Red Hyundai Elantra driven by the male suspect. Staff wrote down the licence plate of the vehicle and contacted police. Officers said the vehicle turned out to have been rented by the female suspect, who has been identified. Police are now asking for the public's help identifying the man. He is described as white, in his 20s with a dark complexion. He wore dark shorts, a white T-shirt and a dark baseball cap. Halton police photo NEWS A man is in hospital with a stab wound to his back after a violent incident outside an Oakville restaurant Thursday. That Halton Regional Police are investigating the incident as a potential case of road rage. The "assault with a weapon" incident occurred in the Swiss Chalet parking lot on Cross Avenue near the Oakville GO station around 5:40 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 22), ac- cording to Const. Ron Strauch in a release. Strauch later said the investigation is ongoing as police hunt two suspects, but added road rage "is a possibility" and is something being investigated. Police say a man in his late 40s was driv- ing in the area when he got into a verbal altercation with two unknown suspects in another vehicle. The suspects followed the man to the Swiss Chalet parking lot, where one of them continued the altercation. It escalated further when the victim was stabbed in the back, police said in a news release. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects are described only as dark-skinned men. One has a thin build with dark hair and is believed to be in his 20s. The other also has dark hair but has a heavy build, police said.
