Elwick, a resident of Oakville and professor at York University, says heYork University, says heY wants Oakville voters to experiment with their vote by supporting the Green party. "Be bold with your vote to show you want change," said Elwick. "Both the Liberals and Conservatives have lead- ers who use words like, 're- sponsibility,' 'emergency,' and 'promises made, promises kept,' but they don't seem to know what those words mean. That's because they think they're entitled to your support." Elwick said that by vot- ing Green, residents are sending other parties a message that they must move away from the poli- tics of fear and start inno- vating. Elwick is a father of two and has degrees from Western, Cambridge andWestern, Cambridge andW Toronto universities. At York he teaches about the relationships between science and soci- ety. He is also on the board of Hockey Cares, an Oak- ville charity that brings Attawapiskat and Oak- ville youth together to play hockey, make friend- ships and bring about real reconciliation with Cana- da's Indigenous, Métis and Inuit peoples.
