Halton police are investi- gating following a sudden rise in vehicle thefts in Oak- ville. Officers say in the past three consecutive nights, car thieves have stolen six high-end SUVs from resi- dential driveways. The targeted vehicles were stolen between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. For the majority of theFor the majority of theF thefts, police said, the sus- pects approached the resi- dences on foot and then used a relay device, which defeats the vehicle's securi- ty system - possibly by ac- cessing the signal transmit- ted by the vehicle's key fobs.
