Oakville library system is to expand its bookmobile service.

With the new White Oaks Library opening March 26, there are two extra days available for bookmobile service in other areas in the town, chief librarian Richard Moses has reported to the library board.

Beginning at the end of March bookmobile service will be available in the following areas: Queen Elizabeth School on Yolanda St., 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Monday; Devon Rd. across from Maple Grove Arena, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday; Hancock Nurseries at the upper end of Trafalgar Rd., 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Wednesday; and on Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Palermo.

In addition, the bookmobile will be extending its hours in Falgarwood to the evenings.

The decision to increase bookmobile service has resulted from a number of requests from local residents, Moses said.
