Feeling anxious? Perhaps visiting the Oakville Salt Cave can help you out. Anna Bury acquired the location with two massage beds, an infrared sauna and the one-of-a-kind salt cave - a halotherapy treat- ment grotto. Bury, a past health-care employee with a dream, has built a comfortable, clean and professional en- vironment to help people get away from daily stress and anxiety. She prides herself on exceptional guest relationships and customer service. "To provide wellness therapy to all people in or- der to relieve stress and tension, to improve range of motion and circulation, to enhance a state of well- being and offer a preven- tive lifestyle through all services provided by the spa in a professional man- ner," she states of the spa's goals. How does salt therapy work? The micro-climate envi- ronment in the salt cave is ionized and saturated with a natural substance of a low concentration of high- ly dispersed aerosol of dry saline (salt). It is formed naturally through the transfer of particles in the atmosphere from the salt walls, and combines with the controlled tempera- ture and humidity to simu- late that of the cave, which creates a hypo-bacterial and allergen-free air envi- ronment. As the salt is in- haled while sitting in the room, it travels through the sinuses and respirato- ry tract absorbing mois- ture, cleansing, clearing mucus and killing bacter- ia. The salt therapy room- has been designed to allow eight people to enjoy a therapy session at the one time. Salt therapy is used by some as a preventive mea- sure to avoid common colds and flu and other re- spiratory viruses. Others use it to treat a specific con- dition such as asthma. Some people say they have experienced relief from symptoms in as littlefrom symptoms in as littlef as two visits. Others take more visits to see results. It also helps with skin issues, relieving dry, itchy or red irritated skin, with reduction in swelling and itching. Other services in- clude massages inside the salt cave, yoga classes, in- frared sauna, RMT mas-frared sauna, RMT mas-f sage (deep tissue, relaxing, Swedish), Thai massage and reflexology. Salt Cave also offers products like natural cos- metics, essential oils, colla- gen supplements, Himala- yan salt products, plant-de- rived minerals, gemstones and jewelry.
