Predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years Gilbert George Keenan (2009). Loving mother to Doug (Shirley Anne) Judy and Gordon. Cherished grandmother to Amanda (Andrew), Tom (Erica), Glenn (Cherine). Great- grandmother of Aubrey Ann. Norah was blessed with a long life filled with many happy times with family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and had many wonderful trips through the years. Mom loved her curling, golf and those fun filled Tuesday afternoons playing bridge. In keeping Norah's wishes a private family service and cremation has been held. Those who wish may donate to the Ontario Lung Association. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. ROSS, James Fergus (Fergie), P. Eng. 20 April 1926 - 05 November 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce Fergie passed away on November 5, 2019. Fergie was born in The Moy, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. During WW2 he enlisted in the Royal Air Force (RAF) to pursue his fascination with flying, a passion he enjoyed until his seventies when he learned to glide. After the war, he enrolled at Queen's University in Belfast, graduating with a degree in structural engineering. Early in his career, Fergie travelled to Africa for work in Nyasaland (now Malawi), where he had many adventures, and then on to Scotland and Labrador before settling in Toronto. In Toronto, he played a pivotal role in the completion of landmark structures like Ontario Place, the Hudson's Bay building on Bloor Street, and the Toronto Eaton Centre. He came out of retirement several times, most notably to manage the construction of the GlaxoSmithKline buildings in Mississauga and Oakville Hydro's new offices. Throughout Fergie's life he maintained a keen interest in many things: flying, car racing, birds and animals, and almost everything to do with our natural environment. His family will never forget the fabulous camping and fishing trips, nature walks, and the compassion for all living things that Fergie made a part of all of us. We are grateful for that ongoing legacy of kindness. Fergie leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Eva-Maria, daughter Katherina (David), and son Nicholas (Victoria). He was predeceased by his older sister Joyce (2017). He will be deeply missed by so many people, and is forever in our hearts. In accordance with his wishes there will be no funeral service, but his family will hold a celebration of his life in the spring. Fergie's ashes will be interred in the family plot in The Moy after some are sprinkled in his favourite places.
