The Winston Park Drive establishment unveiled the two new theatre choices about a month ago. VIP service is available in five of the facil- ity's auditoriums, providing visitors with what organizers call a "more refined and lux- urious way to watch a movie." Due to the fact that alcohol can be served, VIP is restricted to customers who are 19 years of age or older. "Guests can visit the lounge before and af- ter their film and enjoy food and beverages from an expanded menu," said Sarah Lange,from an expanded menu," said Sarah Lange,f executive director of Cineplex Communica- tions. "You can either order that to enjoy in the lounge or have it brought to you in your seat to enjoy during the film." Beer, wine, cocktails and other beverages can be ordered through VIP. Food items avail- able through VIP range from calamari and boneless chicken wings to poutine, tacos and quesadillas, pizza, deep-fried pickles, bur- gers and much more. VIP also has full recliner seating. The 4DX experience offers something to- tally different; available in a separate audito- rium to audience members of all ages. Lange called 4DX a "completely immer- sive way to watch a movie that brings a view- er into the action taking place on the big screen." The facility's single 4DX auditorium fea- tures chairs that bump, jerk and jump in re- sponse to explosions, car crashes or the kicks and punches in a fight sequence. Lights flash in response to gunfire, smells are pumped into the theatre to make some- thing like a breakfast scene more real and wind blows in faces of audience members to mimic wind being experienced by characters in the movie. Only six Cineplex Cinemas locations in Canada have an auditorium equipped for 4DX screenings, and only select movies are played in these auditoriums.
