The unsolved homicide dates back to April 21, 1984, when the body of OPP Cor- poral William McIntyre was located inside his apartment at 1300 Marl- borough Court in Oak- ville. Police said his death was the result of a single gunshot to the head. At the time of his mur- der, investigators say Mc- Intyre had 11 years of "ex- emplary" service with the OPP, during which he worked in southern Onta- rio in an undercover role. The murder was com- mitted while McIntyre was off-duty, just before he was intending to travel to Kingston, Ont., for a work assignment. Despite an exhaustive investigation into the mur- der, the case remains un- solved.
