The board said in an email update that it is ad- justing its summer school opportunities in accor- dance with recent direction from the Ministry of Educa-from the Ministry of Educa-f tion as a result of COVID-19. Offered each summer, these programs are de- signed for HDSB students who do not consistently at- tain Level 3 on their report card or are newcomers to Canada. For Grade 8 students: reach ahead credit Grade 8 students who consistently achieve Level 3 or higher can achieve a high school credit online through remote teacher-led instruction by successfully completing one of the fol- lowing summer school courses: • NAC1O: Exploring Can- ada's Indigenous Cultures (Grade 9) - Students will learn to identify Indigenous art forms and describe rela- tionships between the art forms and Indigenous tradi-forms and Indigenous tradi-f tions, philosophy and cul- ture. • GLD2O: Exploring My Future (Grade 10, Open) - Students will investigate oc- cupations of interest and de- velop an understanding of work through practical hands-on experiences.
