Halton police said on Ju- ly 1 an individual contacted them and reported being sexually assaulted by their driving instructor back in 2013 when they were 18 years old. They alleged the instruc- tor worked for the Leaders Driving School, which was located at 50-A Lakeshore Rd., W. Members of the Halton Police Child Abuse Sexual Assault Unit initiated an in- vestigation into the alleged incident and on Wednesday, Aug. 5 made an arrest. Zia Shah, 63, of Oakville has been charged with one count of sexual assault. Police said the driving school is no longer in busi- ness. However, they believe Shah may have continued to teach in the Oakville area after its closure. Anyone with informa- tion is asked to contact Hal- ton police at 905-465-8747 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS (8477).
