Meetings at Halton Region The time to act is now on proposed CN truck-rail hub in Milton Halton is reviewing its Regional Official Plan, which guides land-use decisions to ensure new development meets the needs of current and future residents. We are kicking off our public consultation period, and want to hear from you on the five areas under review: natural heritage; rural and agricultural system; climate change; North Aldershot planning area; and our regional urban structure (Integrated Growth Management Strategy). Halton Region Public Health continues to work closely with the Ministry of Health, school boards and community partners to ensure all students return to a safe learning environment this September. This includes providing recommendations to school boards for reopening to be considered in conjunction with directives and guidance provided by the Province. We are also encouraging parents and guardians to talk to your children about the importance of keeping themselves, their classmates, their teachers and school staff safe. As part of the Federal Review process, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is in the final stages of public consultation regarding their environmental assessment of the proposed facility. I am encouraging everyone who lives or works in Halton to learn more about the proposal and to take action to make sure the Federal Government knows where you stand on this issue. The Minister of Environment and Climate Change will announce a decision by September 23.
