We will miss her spunk. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Patrick Bryson. Her zest for life will live on through her four children, Pat, Theresa, Jody and Susan, six grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. Rest in peace. To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. A gathering has taken place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. The family will gather again in the spring to inter her cremated remains. Beloved husband of Pauline for 68 wonderful years. Loving father of Keith (Joan), Katherine (predecea- sed) and Doug (Rita), and Cynthia (Kerry). Proud Papa to ten grandchildren, Heather (Neeraj), Kris (Patricia), Matthew (Desiree), Andrea (Kostya), Jeff (Jodi), Shawna (Jamie), Aubrey (Scott), Charlie, Alex, and Patrick (Tamara). Great-grandfather to Naveen, Priya, Amiyah, Shamus, Loghan, Revenna, Selena, Sasha, Landon, Evan, Jacob, Adam, Jordyn, Griffin, and Henry. He was pre- deceased by four brothers and sisters, survived by Dunstan, Gennie (Merrill), Margaret, and Sister Nora. Patrick will be missed by many more extended family members, and many other wonderful people who enriched his life. He will be remembered for his love of horses, his willingness to give to the community with the hockey school he began in 1967 and ran for 36 years, and his love of East Coast fiddle music. He was devoted to his wife. His final wish was to be buried in his "best suit", the one he wore when he began his married life with Pauline. The family would like to thank the staff at Northridge LTC and the wonderful doctors and staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Don was a dedicated supporter of the Canadian Children's Optimist Foundation and its predecessor, the Optimist International Foundation of Canada. His contribution to CCOF has left a legacy. Don was made an honorary member of the Corporation. He is spoken about with respect, reverence and admiration. He commenced membership of the Oakville Optimist Club in 1977. Through his tenure he held many club and district leadership positions - most notably as District Chair of the Essay Contest, helping to establish the Bursaries program for senior students in the Oakville community. Prior to his work in Oakville, Don had been a charter member of the Montreal-Cote-des-Neiges Optimist Club having held many positions, while contributing to the successful drum and bugle marching band. Don retired from a career in the Treasury Department of Canadian Pacific, a job that allowed him to become well travelled. Memorably, in the mid 1960's Don worked as a goal judge for the NHL and rubbed shoulders with some of the great Canadian hockey legends. Donald MacDonald, never hindered by the "Two Solitudes" strived to help young people. The Canadian Children's Optimist Foundation grieves the loss of a believer, supporter and example of living out the Optimist Creed.
