The three retiring su- perintendents are Mark Zonneveld, Julie Hunt Gib- bons and John Pennyfath- er. "Halton has benefited greatly from the leadership and expertise of these three exemplary Superin- tendents," said Stuart Miller, HDSB Director of Education. "Their experience and friendship will be missed by all members of the se- nior team, as well as the many staff who have bene- fitted from their student- centred approach to sup- porting students and fel- low staff members." Dean Barnes, who most recently was the System Principal for the Interna- tional Student Program and the Welcome Centre for the HDSB, is a Halton school graduate and a for- mer principal of T.A. Bla- kelock High School. Claire Proteau, the cur- rent principal of M.M. Rob- inson High School, joined the HDSB in 2003 as an En- glish department head. She has also served as a second- ary vice-principal at White Oaks and Burlington Cen- tral high schools and was both vice-principal and principal at Syl Apps Schools. Aiman Flahat has more than 28 years of teaching and administrative experi- ence at the secondary school, college and univer- sity levels. He previously served as Principal Coach for School Improvement and Equity, supporting the professional learning of school administrators at more than 50 schools with the Toronto District School Board, and is the current principal of Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute.
