A short online survey is open until April 15 and in- tended to help town staff develop recommendations for the town's noise bylaw. The survey can be found at https://survey123.arc- gis.com. The noise bylaw aims to balance noise from most activities in a way that re- spects everyone's right to an enjoyable community and peaceful lifestyle. Town staff said the on- line survey will take about five minutes to complete and will be strictly confi- dential and anonymous. Residents will have the option to provide an email address if they would like to receive updates on the review. The Town is also host- ing an in-person public in- formation meeting in the South Atrium of Town Hall on Thursday, April 14 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Town staff are encour- aging residents and busi- nesses to drop by to provide their feedback. "I encourage residents to take the town's five-min- ute online survey or drop by our in-person public in- formation night to provide feedback that will help up- date noise regulations in Oakville," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. "Our goal is to improve the noise bylaw to ensure that Oakville continues to be a safe, inclusive and en- joyable community for all our residents." Staff will be available to discuss the current com- munity noise standards, outdated and/or unclear terms and definitions with- in the noise bylaw and oth- er noise-related topics. Residents can also send comments to enforce- ment@oakville.ca. Revisions to the noise bylaw will be presented for council's approval later this year.
