Letter to the Editor Editor, Oakville-Trafalgar Journal, Can you tell us how to get the residents of South East Trafalgar to call the correct fire telephone number? Here are four times the firemen have been wanted: 1. A home in the north section called Milton firemen, who in turn called Oakville, who notified No. 2 brigade, Trafalgar. The re- sult was a home destroyed. 2. A call came in to the correct place but the call was the follow- ing: "Come to Mr. --'s roof fire at Trafalgar" Away went the truck up to Trafalgar, but among the firemen was the Supt. of the Trafalgar Public Utilities, who sald there was no ome of that name in Trafalgar but there was one of that name on the No. 2 highway. So that group went to that house, and found that was the place of the fire and that the fire was under control and all danger past. But it might not have been! 3. Call and directions ok. and the man running up the road to stop the truck as danger over. 4. Roof fire on 8th Line, Oakville firemen called, who relayed the call to No. 2 Trafalgar Brigade, causing unnecessary delay. Again no serious damage, but there could have been. Some time ago the council or brigade supplied every home in the fire area with a red sticker to be attached to their phones. These were older residents, but as there are a lot of new residents in the district, if they will notify George Wright, fire chief, R. R. 1 or Eldon Perkins, R. R. 2, T feel sure any resident will be supplied with a sticker. In the meantime, use Telephone Fire call 1.
