As of press time, there were 11 active COVID-19 outbreaks in congregate settings across Halton mu- nicipalities, according to Halton Region. The list includes long- term-care homes at Allen- dale in Milton and the Vil- lage of Tansley Woods in Burlington, as well as re- tirement homes at Amica Bronte Harbour and Sun- rise Senior Living of Oak- ville in Oakville and Exten- dicare in Halton Hills. There were 16 people with COVID-19 in Halton's four hospitals as of May 27, according to reports pub- lished by Joseph Brant Hos- pital and Halton Health- care. Four of those were pa- tients at the Burlington hos- pital, while nine were in Oakville, two in George- town, and one in Milton. Health officials also re- ported three more COVID- related deaths, one each in Milton, Oakville and Hal- ton Hills. This brings the death toll in Halton to 375. A number of Halton long-term care homes are facing outbreaks of COVID.
