The annual fundraiser helps raise money to help care for more than 3,000 animals who come to the shelter throughout the year. "It's still mainly online or things you can do on your own, but there are a few components bringing people together that we haven't been able to the past cou- ple of years," said OMHS' Somer Deschambault-Page. "We weren't able to do our retail challenge be- cause everything was closed, but we're a big proponent of support- ing local businesses and we're working with retail stores to raise money." There are a variety of ways to get involved and participate. Here's how you can get in- volved: WALKING CHALLENGE If you take your dog for a daily walk, or even if you don't have a pet, you can still participate. You can register now, set your walk- ing goal and set up a fundraising page. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers. CELEBRATION CHALLENGE Celebrating a birthday? Or an anniversary? It could be a chance to help animals in your commu- nity. Register your celebration as a fundraiser. If your child would like to support the animals on their birthday, the OMHS has a special kit for them as a thank you. You can also celebrate your pets' birthdays or commemorate the day they joined your family. MY CHALLENGE If you have your idea for a fundraiser, you can do a do-it- yourself challenge - selling crafts or baked goods, ride your bike, do yoga - however you want to fun- draise. You can register your challenge and get started. RETAIL CHALLENGE You can register your store or business and, with the help of your customers, raise money to support the animals at the shel- ter. With the retail challenge, you can ask customers to add a dollar or two to their purchase or round up their purchase. You can put customers' names on a paw to dis- play to recognize their contribu- tion. CORPORATE CHALLENGE Sponsor Mission Pawsible and receive recognition for your sup- port on OMHS' social media channels DONATION CHALLENGE During Mission Pawsible you can donate to OMHS and contri- butions will be matched, dou- bling the impact of your dona- tion. MICROCHIP CLINIC As part of the Mission Pawsi- ble campaign, the OMHS is host- ing a microchip clinic on Sun- day, June 5. Microchips help identify your pet if they get lost and ensure their safe return home. The clinic will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the OMHS, 445 Cornwall Rd., Oakville. Space is limited, so call 905-845- 1551 to reserve a spot.
