An amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, Mom always put her family first and quietly taking care of everyone else was her life's passion. Predeceased by David, her husband of 66 years, she will be deeply missed by sons Bruce and Steven (Ardyce), and many grandchildren. Whether it was swimming, skating, playing at the park, or reading books, Mom created so many good memories with grandson Robert always close by her side. Mom had an incredible wit and would often make little comments out of the blue that would leave us all in stitches. Scrabble was her favourite past time, but her art skills while playing Pictionary is something we will never forget... if you could figure out what she was drawing it was a miracle, to do it without Mom and everyone else laughing hysterically was impossible. Mom was born in Toronto on April 30, 1931 where she attended school and began working at a young age. She worked for Colgate's and General Electric as a Dictaphone Typist in the early 1950's. Mom met Dad in 1952 and they were married in 1955. In 1960 they moved to Oakville to settle down and raise a family. Mom enjoyed being involved with the boys any way she could, from sports to school outings and being a cub leader for many years. She coerced Dad into Square Dancing, Round Dancing, and travelling to Florida and Hawaii. Summers were spent at the cottage where she would enjoy reading, doing a puzzle, or just chatting over coffee while looking out at the lake. She loved to be active which continued throughout her life, and even at the age of 90 she would drive to the community pool for her fitness and social time. More than anything else, Mom loved her family. We love you and will miss you, but we will fondly remember all the good times we had together. You will remain in our hearts forever. Arrangements are with Kopriva-Taylor Community Funeral Home for a private, family service and internment.
