Residents of Oakville and district were distressed to learn of the death last Friday of Chas. H. Strong, of Erindale, and formerly of Oakville, having conducted the Royal Exchange hotel here. About thirty years ago he retired and went to live at Erindale on a small fruit farm. He was seventy-six years of age.

Mr. Strong was widely known and at his funeral on Monday a great concourse of old friends gathered to pay their last respects. Rev. Mr. Thompson conducted service at the residence and interment following in Erindale cemetery. The pallbearers were W. C. Andrew, Wm. Conover, John O'Neil, Ken. Featherstone, C. Bailey and Mr. Dining.

Mr. Strong is survived by his widow who was Miss Mary E. Dawson, and one daughter, Mrs. Alex. McRae, of Toronto, and one son, Melton, who now lives in Wisconsin.

Mr. Strong was real well and about a week before his death was in Oakville and district visiting relatives and friends.
