Here's how much the region spent last year on remuneration and expenses for council, accord- ing to the staff report: » The total amount of salaries, benefits, and expenses paid throughout 2022 was $1,831,785. + The total also covered coun- cilmembers sitting on Halton Re- gional Police Service Board ($57,468), conservation authority boards ($36,379), and other boards ($13,086). + Carr received a total of $243,939 in salaries, benefits and expenses. + The numbers for other coun- cillors, including newly elected members following the munici- pal election, range from $7,073 to mong those who took home the most last year were Ro- ry Nisan ($71,933), Sean O'Meara ($69,257), Colin Best ($69,245), and. Angelo Bentivegna ($69,220). + Expenses for attending con- ferences in 2022 were $71,293, up from $20,115 in 2021 — while mile- age claims were $638, a slight in- crease from $551 the previous year.
