Mr. CROOKS presented the first re-- | port of the Committee on Private Bills, and | the Standing Committeo on Railways, The l reports were adopted. Mr. DEROCHE presented the report_of the Committes on Standing Orders, which was adopted. Mr. OLARKE (Wellington), presented the report of the Standing Committee on Printing, which was also adopted. Mr. McLEOD presented the report of the | Standing Committee on Public Accounts,and Mr. PRINCE the first report of the Com-- mittee on Privileges and Elections, Both reports were adopted. "THE GUELPH AGRICULTURAL FARM. Mr., RYKERT asked whether any police-- men of the city of Toronto, or other persons, were sent by the Minister of Public Works, or by the authority of the Government, to take forcible or other possession of the Agri-- cultural Farm at Gueiph, and whether any written or verbal instructions were given to* asuch persons. Hon, Mr. McKELLAR said that some months after the contract for the purchase of the farm, and two or three days before the conveyance was mado, a person was sent to take posscssion of the new house, which was then unoccupied. The persons sent were golicemen of Toronto, No person was sent y him or by the Government to take posses-- sion of the farm until after the conveyance was made to the Government by Mr. Stone, (Hear, hear.) GoOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE3. Mr. RYKERT moved for a return show-- ing the names of all persons appointed to any oflice, either temporary or permanent, by the Government since January lst, 1873, the date of their several appointments, and the zalaries or emoluments attached thereto, Mr, LAUDER asked leave, before the motion was carried, to correct the impression likely to be created by the remarks of the Provincial Secretary yesterday upon the subject of increase of salaries, '1":100 hon. Minisier bad stated that the ralaries of | officials at Ottawa had been increased since Confederation, which he (Mr. Lauder) denied. He went on to show that there had been decrease in the number of officials and the amount of salaries, under some heads, to the tune of $10,000. Hé contended that the rider which the Premier had moved to his (Mr, Lauder's) motion, yesterday would strengthen the position of the Opposition, Hon, Mr. FRASER said the hon. fientleman had _ said yesterday -- that e _ _ made the motion _ to _ show which was the party of extravagance + and which the party of economy. What he (Mr, Fraser) had then said was that the leader of hon. gentiemen on the opposite benches had sanctioned every increase in salary profiouegl by the Covernment except one, and that it came badly from the mouths of hol;.'sentlemen to complain of what their own leader hac agreed to.
