for the action of Polics Etrute Denison of Toronto, who had retused to endorse the war-- rant issued in Quebec for the arrest of Mr. E. E. Sheppard, of Toronto. The ATTORNEY--GENERAL said he did not consider that hewas in any way responsible for the action of the Police Magistrate. The latter considered that in this matter of the warrant he was allowed by law to exercise his discretion as'to whether or not he signed this warrant and he had exercised such discretion and had not signed it. The Attorney--(ieneral added that he had not look-- ed up the law to see if the Police Magistrate were correct id this construction of the law. The House then, at 11.40 p.m., adjourned.
