The average daily number of patients in residence also shows an increase of 240, the number for the former year being!3,266 and for the latter 3,-- 506. The numbers remaining in residence at the close of these years respectively were 3,318 und 3,468, being an increase of m' Mr. Christie submits some valuable in-- formation regarding the care of the insane, which goes to show that the present method has worked satisfactorily both from an economical and philanthropic point of view.
