In the Legislative Assembly to--day among the petitions presented were the following :-- ; Mr. Waters--Of the Socicty of Friends, for the oxtension of the clective franchise to women. e Mr. McCleary--Of the farmers institute, County o?f Welland, for the @wbolition of the market fee systom. . $ Mr, Wood (Brant)--Of the Municipal Council of Caledonia, praying for the repeal of the bonus clause in the Municipal Act. There was also a large number of peti-- tions praying for amendments to the liquor license law, the abolition of the contract system on public works, etc. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. The following bills were introduced and received a first reading : -- Mr. McMahon--Respecting the Dundas & Waterloo macadamised road, Mr. Guthrie--To empower Mary Soden to seil certain lands in the City of Gueiph. ; Mr. Willoughby--Itespecting the Township of Seymour,. 5 s Mr. Dack--Respecting companies supplying cities, towns and villages with gas and water. Mr. McCleary--To incorporuate the Village of Riveorton, Mr. Robillard--To amend the Assessment Act. Mr. Ferguson--To confer certain powers on the Chatham Waterworks Company, Mr. Cleland--'To consolidate the debt of the Town of Owen Sound. Mr. Tait--'To incorporate the Toronto & Ash-- bridgo's HBay Improvement Company. Mr. Garrow--'To consolidate the debt of the Town of Goderich. Mr,. Ross--To authoriso the 'Town of Strath-- roy to issue certain debentures. Mr. Gibson--To amend the act to incorporate the synod of the Diocese of Niagara and to authorise the sale of certain lands. _ _ Mr, Gilmour--To coniirm cortain by--iaws of North Toronto and for other purposes, Mr. Gibson (Hamilton)--'To incorporate the Mamilton, Grimsby & Beamsvilie Electric Rail-- way Company, , Mr. Harcourt--'To incorporate the Niagara Falls Park & Queenston Electric Railway & bL('ilHlb\)ulr Company. Mr. Conmcee--To incorporate the T Rat Portage. P Town of The Speaker announced that & repre-- sentalt.n'e (Mr. Harty) had been elected for the electoral district of Kingston.
