This action is taken in compliance with the hundreds of petitions which have been presented to the legislature,, and with the terms of the resolution ; dopted at the meeting of prohibitionists held in the parliament buildings last week. The exact method of securing the popular verdict on the wr question has not yet hbeen decided , but it is altogether probable that provision will be made for the submis-- sion of the question at.the next munici-- pal or the next provincial election. Many strong argumeonts have been ad-- vanced in favor of taking the vote at the municipal elections, as the result, it is almost certain, would be knov,q3 before the Dominion parliament undertakes the consideration of the report of the prohi-- bition commission.
