Mr. James Haverson, counsel for their association, has been around the build-- Ing to--day interviewing various mem-- |bers, and an effort may possibly be 'made to defeat the proposition when | ' it comes up for its third reading. ' The Pubiic Accounts Committee met this morning, when Warden Lavell of Kingston Penitentiary continued his testimony, being questioned by Mr. Marter, Hon. Mr. Harcourt called two witnesses in rebuttal, Messrs, R. T. McCullough and Sam -- Harkmenn, both residents 'of Kingston, who had seen the meat supplied the penitea-- tiary. They deciared it to be of an inferior quality, and worth about $2 a hundred--weight less than that used in the Kingston Asyium. The committee will sit again to--morrow morning. fTuani NK _I y Cs Sn ty " u9 %
