In order to get the Government grant of $4,000 to-- | wards the cost of the new building the site and plans have to be approved of by the Government inspector, and the deputation requested that no time should be lost in making the inspection. They asked that the Govern-- ment grant the usual subsidy towards the construetion of a railway from some point on the Northern between Aurora and Newmarket to Schomberg, in King Township, a distance of fif-- teen miles. 'The Attorney--General in-- formed the deputation that sgince 1881 the Legislature had unanimously de-- cided not to make any more grants to-- wards railways in the older settled portions of the Province. f Principals Loudon and Sheraton and Father Teefly had an interview with the Cabinet in respect to the bill pro-- moted by Victoria University, respect-- ing representation on the Senate of To-- ronto University. The two first named gentlemen are not altogether in favor of the bill.
