Mr. Whitney, after ascertaining that the clause did not preciude the regular legal objections by ratepayers, sald that the whole House would be willing to help Mr. Hardy to safeguard the interests of Brantford, and at Mr. Cars-- calien's suggestion the amendment was uwnanimously concurred in.
