A Deputrtion Waits on the Govern-- ment to Protest Against Passing --of Metropolitan Bill, *3 .. deputation representing the City Council, Board of Trade and others waited on Premier Ross and Hon. John t Dryden yesterday afternoon respect-- ing the Metropolitan Railway bill. Mayor Howland gave a history of the: 7 case, and said the city had been fight--| ing for municipal control of the streets.| The company, he said, really wanted a perpetual right to run on the city streets. The City Council was the pro-- per body to look after the rights of the citizens. He asked that they be heard before the bar of the House if it was necessary.
