The Owen Sound ; Lake Shore Rail-- [ way Company, which was incorporated '_.to build a linte from Owen Sound to -- Meaford, a distance of about forty | miles, is anxious to obtain a Provincial subsidy. A deputation consisting ot Mr. George Boyd and Mr. McLaughlin of Owen Sound waited on the Premier this morning and asked that a subsidy of $3,000 a mile should be granted. A Dominion subsidy of $6,000 a mile has already been granted. T;.s deputation pointed out that existing liries between the two points mentioned crossed the _height of land through the centre Yof the storm area, and invariably were blocked from time to time during the winter months.
