Date of Control Bill's Arrival l Still Kept Under Premier's Hat -- Progressives in the Legislature yesterday iried to wring from the lips of Premier Ferguson some ad-- mission as to when the Government liquor control bill would be intro-- duced to the House. But they ran up against a snag. Before the orders of the day were called. R. H. Kemp, member for Lincolu. called the attention of the Prime Minister to a newspaper re-- port that the bill would be brought down '"a week from Tuesday.'" Mr, Kemp asked if there was anythin to the rumor. "I haven't heard any rumor," smiled Mr. Ferguson. "And I sup-- pose when the bill is coming down that I shall hear of it." Hon. W. E. Raney then cut in with the question: "Can the Prime Minister give us any intimation as to when this House may expect the bill?" Mr. Ferguson may have been to, but he didn't. All he said. reply was: "I'm not prepared give any information just now." --| A 6\\4: T h Legislative Machinery Works Smoothly and Various Acts Are Given Second Reading SCORE OR MEESURES RAPIDLY CONSDERED Legislative -- machinery worked smoothly and rapidly in the On-- tario House yesterday, and in five minutes before the Budget debate was continued a score of bills were dealt with. Second readiang was given to the following acts: To amend the As-- signment of Book Debts Act, to amend the voters' list, to amend the Wages Amendment Act, to amend the Conditional Sales Act, to amend the Judges' Act, to amend the Judicature Act, to improve the quality of dairy products, to amend the Milk, Cheese and Butter Act. The. House in Committee pass-- ed an act respecting the Hamilton Street Railway Company, a meas-- ure to ratify an agreement between the company and the city.
