N, Sinclair, Liberal House Leader in the Ontario Legisla- ture, issued the following statement yesterday wi'h regard to the session Just ended: I "The session in: dosed. while not (lspectaeular. has in erery way been imost successful for the Liberal Party. {Without authoritative leadership from lofficial :ourees. the members have participated actively and cifiwtivtr'y. "The Hydro received prominence due to the constructive criticism di- rected toward it by Dr. McQuibban and other Liberals. and the public ownership undertaking of Ontario must, in consequence, return to its former objective. a producing and dis- tributing system of power and light at cost. rather than a system of buy- ing power at private companies' prices with distribution on a cost-plus basis. The amendments to the Power Com- lmission Act were closely scrutinized, twith the result that valuable changes were made. The members now return to their respective homes with no for- _ mulated plan to carry to the people of their ridings other than their own,the message of. the session. With full par- ticipation in all activities throughout the session and with full knowledge of all that the session involved, l, with _ the other members. go back to my rid- ing to pursue my own activities, lim- ited politically by the boundaries of my riding. Thanks Liberal Members. " am glad the Liberal members have received lull publicity in the press for all their sessional activities so that the party in general has had the irnpiiation which has come from their efforts. The dissemination of Liberal thought and the. results of the concentrated efforts of the Liberal members of the House during the last session new fall to the lot of the Leader who has not the personal ad- Vantage of contact with them or with the sessional work. As Leader of the Opposition I want publicly to thank the Liberal members for their united efforts on behalf of the party during the session, handicapped as they were by lack of the advantages; of a recog- nized party Leader as their director sin the Legislature. and to pay tribute to them as the recognized elected rep- resentatives of the party in Ontario. I hope one and all have a successful recess at their own occupations."
