ed, with present boundaries slightly changed. The Eastern Line--up, The historic County of Glengarry remains, with the addition of the section of Prescott south of the Cana-- dian National Railways line. Prescott takes in a portion of Russell, but Rus-- sell takes in a part of Ottawa, with Ottawa losing its one seat. Lanark South and North will be joined / to-- gether and known as Lanark. South Renfrew and North Renfrew remain, but the latter takes in a few townships in the eastern section of Nipissing to make up its quota. Sturgeon Falls goes into. the balance of Nipissing, while Manitoulin passes out of exist-- ence, being joined to Algoma. Of interest to the riding which may be represented by Liberal Leader Hep-- burn is the proposal to take two town-- ships out of West Elgin and place them in East Kent. The townships are Aldborough and Dunwich. The balance of West Elgin and East Elgin will now make one riding. In Brant County, represented by Progressive Leader Nixon, Windham and Town-- send Townships of Norfolk County are added, in addition to Blenheim Township, as aforementioned as com-- ing from Oxford. Oakland Township, from Brantford City riding, also goes into Brant County. With the passing of Dufferin Coun-- ty. Mulmur and Mono Townships, in-- cluding Orangeville, go into Southwest Simcoe, while Melancthon, Amaranth. East Luther, Garafraxa Townships go to Wellington North. Centre Simcoe takes in the Gwillimbury Township of Southwest Simcoe. Peel and Halton Counties remain unchanged, whils the four York seats will still be represent-- The remaining part of Norfolk County is joined in a riding to be known as Haldimand--Norfolk. There will be ninety Provincial rid-- ings represented in the Ontario Legis-- lature aiter next election, if the unani-- mous report of the special Committee on Redismbt_n,lon is approved by the House. 'The report was tabled early this (Wednesday) morning by Hon. William Finlayson, Chairman of the committee. If the adopted plans carry the House--and it is considered most likely that they will--twonty--two of the present members will not be back unless they can obtain nomination elsewhere in their shuffled ridings. Of the twenty--two to go, nineteen are Conservatives, two are Progressives and one is a Liberal. The Progressive members affected are D. M. Ross (North Oxford) and T. K. Slack (Dufferin), while the lone Liberal to lose his seat is W. J. Mac-- Kay (Bruce South). North Oxford passes out of existence, as the pres-- ent North and South ridings become one, with the exception of Blenheim Township, which goes into Brant County. Dufierin passes, with part of it go-- ing to Southwest Simcoe and the rest into North Wellington. Part of South Bruce goes into North Huron, and the remainder into North Bruce. Cities Affected. In the cities, Toronto lases two seats, Greenwosod and Brockton; London one, Hamilton cne, Ottawa one, and Peterboro' City is joined with Peter-- boro' Ccunty in one riding to be known as Peterboro'. Two Progressives and One Liberal Must Seek New Constituencies Redistribution Report Tabled by Legislature Com-- mittee 19 Province Split Into 90 Ridings, 22 Seats Fewer TORIES AFFECTED At its organization meeting on April 4, the committee re--elected Hon. Mr. Finlwwson as Chairman, and nam-- ed a subcommittee, comprising Hon. Mr. Macaulay, Dr. McQuibban and Mr. Taylor, to survey the ridings situ-- ation and draw up a tentative sched-- ule along the line of the 20 per cent. reduction favored previously in the 'HMouse by the Premier, This sub« committee, after two meetings, was able to present a program that re-- | ceived the unanimous endorsation of the main committee. In effecting this advocated reduc-- tion of twenty--two seats in the pres-- ent house membership of 112, the committee has used as its redistribu-- tion basis a minimum population of 25.000 for a rural riding, and of 50,000 for an urban constituency, and has endeavored where possible to stick to county boundaries. . s The official announcement of Hon. Mr. PFinlayson follows: 'The Select Committee of the Legislature, which was appointed to consider Bill No. 125, an Act Respecting the Representation of the People in the Legislative As-- sembly, has completed its sessional tasks, and has unanimously recom-- mendecd to the House the adoption of its proposed new schedule of ninety electoral districts. Boundaries of the ridings are set out in the schedule which is now in the hands of the printers. Units Ruled. There is said to be a political battle in the air over the two Toronto rid-- ings. The committee has virtually docided that Brockton and Green-- wood must pass, but what members will vacate their seats is another question. George Smith, who repre-- sents Greenwood in the present House, may take Woodbine vacated by George Shields, who is resigning, but. it is said, there will be a fight to allow Fred McBrien (Brockton) to run elsewhere. Finlayson Announcement. Two present ridings are to have their names changed. North East Wellington becomes North Welling-- ton and West Middlesex becomes South Middlesex. The bill will likely go into Committee of the Whole to-- day, as the principle of the legislation has already received second reading. The two Perth ridings are merged, including the Town of Palmerston. Wellington South is unchanged, ex-- cept that it takes in the Township of Eramosa, which goes into Welling-- ton North. Huron South will now take in Goderich, which was former-- ly in North Huron, and North Huron takes in Huron Township, Kinloss, Culross and Carrick Townships of South Bruce. The balance of South Bruce, being Kincardine, Greenoch and Brant Townships, including Walkerton, is added to North Bruce. Names Are Changed. ALAincoln--St. Catharines. Welland remains, but takes in the Township of Pelham of Lincoln County, and the balance of Lincoln is now with St. Catharines. Hamilton loses one seat through a portion of it going to make up a Wentworth-- Ha_rpilton riding.
