"My only statement is that the County of York needs an extra Judge, and this appointment--which, of course,| | will be made in Ottawa--will supply ' the deficiency." | Well--informed circles, however, pro--| fessed to see in Mr. Roebuck's move | & confirmation of widespread rumors| | that Judge W. Purthermore, the total annual revenue, through legal channels, in York County, was slight-- kc ly greater than the similar revenue s :;' the entire remainder of the Prov-- Not Proportionate. Consequently, Mr. Rocbuck said, it | was quite obvious that the number of » -- Judges in York was wel lunder pro-- portion for the extent of the duties, and that another appointment was indicated. & The eight present County Judges of York are: James Parker, Senior Judge, who was retired from the Toronto Police Commission when the present Government took office; Daniel s O'Connell, recently appointed to supervise the City Police Courts: Wil-- Ham T. J. Lee, at present a member of the City Police Commission, with Frank Denton, K.C., and Mayor Mc-- Bride; J. Arthur Jackson, Frank M. Fileld, Ian Macdonell, T. Herbert A Barton and Albert E. Honeywell. In f addition there is Surrogate Court _Juxige John Tytler,
