The South Marysburgh Mirror Milford Friendship Circle Alice Miller was hostess for the Milford Friendship Circle on Thursday, April 3rd at 1:30 p.m. President Marg Crouse opened with the thought: Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing well those you hold. Alice’s Thought for the Day was a poem enti- tled The Best Excuse. The March minutes were read by Barb Balsil- lie in the absence of secretary Maureen. Six members answered roll call with an East- er thought. Treasurer Wilma Creasy reported our financ- es and the ladies made a very creditable donation to the Picton food bank. Margaret is setting up a quilt and will give a donation to the Circle for any members available to help. The meeting closed with a reading by Marg listing the various ailments old folks complain about, but all were thankful that they could still drive. The ladies enjoyed a social time along with a lunch supplied by their hostess who was thanked by Jean Burrows on behalf of the ladies. JACKSON'S FALLS EST. 1870 ‘We are closed for brunches now as we begin our busy guest season hosting visitors from outside the county, some of whom you may see riding their bicycles on our back roads. As we usually do, we encourage them to stop into local businesses, including our fabulous county restaurants that are now opening for the season. We really enjoyed hosting Sunday brunches and a few special dinners. We expect to continue serving brunch in the winter, and we are still planning pub nights in the future! We’ll also host dinners as availability allows so please contact us for more information. We will keep you posted on that and any upcoming events! ‘You may have noticed the Romano Brothers Contracting Company trucks parked outside the schoolhouse this spring. Frank and Guy Roma- no did an amazing job helping us with some renovations, and demonstrated exceptional skill and artistic ability. They’re on County Road 8 at 613.503.4683 if you’re in need of help. Thank you everyone for your continued sup- port. We love our community and hope every- one has a fruitful season! And if you’re a visitor to Prince Edward County, we hope you enjoy your stay!
