This project is a first for PEPtBO and underlines the registered charity's roles in monitoring migra(cid:415)ng birds at the Prince Edward Point Na(cid:415)onal Wildlife Area, and as the official caretaker for the Prince Edward County South Shore Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA.) Forty kilometers of Lake Ontario shoreline in South Marysburgh and ninety square kilometers of land and water habitats now carry the environmental dis(cid:415)nc(cid:415)on of being designated as globally significant. PEPtBO acts as steward of the IBA and remains devoted to protec(cid:415)ng the ecological integrity of the area and to advoca(cid:415)ng for its unique environment. Presented with the support of the Gosling Founda- (cid:415)on, NatureHood Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada, and embraced by County adver(cid:415)sers, Nature Ma(cid:425)ers! extends an invita(cid:415)on to all comers to enjoy the natural wonders found along the South Shore and in the County. In a bold move, members of the Board of Directors of the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory (PEPtBO) decided it was high (cid:415)me to showcase and ac(cid:415)vi(cid:415)es about the natural world in and around the County to October. To this end, they the Nature developed Ma(cid:425)ers! project which will launch at the Observatory at the end of Long Point Road right a(cid:332)er the April long weekend. Conceived and designed by PEPtBO Board member Borys Holowacz, who led the produc(cid:415)on team, Nature Ma(cid:425)ers! contains a detailed calendar and descrip(cid:415)ons of events and programs in South Marysburgh and around the County from May 6 un(cid:415)l October 31.
