Feb 13 at 1:30pm. Maureen Rudd conducted the meeting in president Sandra Emlaw's absence. Her opening remarks advised us to sprint clean out minds of unwanted thoughts much as we get rid of unwanted clutter in our homes. Our theme hymn, purpose and Lord's prayer were recited. Irene Robb's devotional was based on love. Scripture was taken from Psalm 35 and Hoseah Chapter 11, verse 4. God gives love freely - all we have to do is accept it. If we do, our lives will be transformed. It will help us see the needs of. others, inspire us to do good to those who hate us and prompt us to reach out to unloving people. Nine members answered roll call by telling how to keep our hearts healthy. Some suggestions were - lose weight, reduce stress, eat well, exercise, brush teeth often and change tooth brush frequently, belong to social groups. Twelve sick calls were made. Secretary Carolyn Bames refreshed out memories with the minutes of our Jan. meeting. Her report was meticulous as usual. Accepted. A thank you card was received from Floral Minaker for our UWC support at the time of Quint's funeral. Plans were finalized for catering Murray and Leona Head's 50th anniversary on Sunday February 24. World's Day of Prayer will be celebrated at St. Phillip's Anglican Church on Friday March 7 at 2pm. Be sure to mark your calendar. Our collection was re- ceived and dedicated. It was moved that we donate $50 to the Heart and Stroke fund. A discussion conceming the donation given to our schools was conducted as rumour has it, these schools could be closed. The ladies decided the money should be used to pur- chase books instead of going toward playground equipment.
