The enthusiastic and talented in last year's Picton Rising Star Competition at the County Fair left no doubt in anyone's mind that the County Has Talent! 2007 marked the inaugural year of the Picton Rising Star, the brain child of local Marketing expert, Judy Fraser. Judy wanted the County's youth to take to the stage asa brand new part of the County Fair, held at the Picton Fair- grounds every September. "I approached recording artist, Jeanette Arsenault, with the idea and she jumped in with her usual enthusiasm for projects that involve youth", said Fraser. "How could I not?", replied Arsenault. "It was such a wonderful oppor- tunity for our young, up & coming talented artists to be showcased in our community", she continued. Last year's competition attracted some very gener- ous sponsors, in kind donations and the involvement of a lot of individuals. "We are so pleased that Founding Sponsors, Chris & Norah Rogers of the Waring House Restaurant & Inn have agreed to be our ‘Super Star' sponsor this year," said Arsenault, who is chairing the Picton Rising Star Commit- tee this year.
