President Sandra Emlaw's opening thought - as the sun speeds up the growth of seeds, so the as- sociation of good friends also benefits us. Our UCW purpose, theme hymn and Lord's prayer were re- peated by all. Irene Robb's devotional asked the question "If I were a gift, what gift would I be?’ A poem demonstrated that j just to be remembered by others could be a gift. We finished by signing the song Kum By Yah. Thirteen members answered roll call by telling their memo- ries of Milford. Some memories - mummers, waiting at old Milford Post office for school bus, helping take and bring ome cows from pasture behind Mt. Tabor, ball games, fire destroying Quint Minaker house and two men carrying out the piano, painting classes at town hall, and a more recent one - picture of the miller statue in front of the post office. Secretary Carolyn Barnes read the minutes of the May meet- ing which were accepted as correct. Nineteen sick calls were made and two get well cards sent. Treasurer Joyce Minaker presented a detailed account of our finances to date. Coming events - Relay for Life will take place at Belleville on Friday, June 20. Several people from our area are participating. Prime Minister Harper is apologizing today to our natives who had children taken away from them to attend schools. Churches were asked to mark the occasion by ringing the Church bell at 3pm for two minutes. Our bell was rung by the i VY BRET bees IRENE ROBB prep. Reflexology Aromatherapy Massage and Therapeutic Touch. Our fish fry will be held on Wed, Aug 13, from 4:30pm to 7pm. Crafts will also be offered in the school house. The fall rally will be held at Picton United Church on Wed, Oct 1 Cobourg Presbyterial will be held on Wed Oct 29 with registration at 9am. Our UCW is donating $2000 to the church to show our appreciation for the assistance by all members of the con- gregation. Karen Guernsey's program was a demonstration of the use of many of the gadgets connected with sewing. Some of us are still in the dark of how to use them. Thanks, Karen.
